I am not leaving the game, or Artifact, but I am stepping down from the GM position. I feel a lot of responsibility for Artifact, and this decision is only made possible by the confidence I have in the strength and potential of the guild.

So. Why? I've been GM for Artifact longer than I can remember. If we've built the guild as well as I think we have, it's time to give other hands a turn at the wheel, and that transition will be smooth. This is something I have always wanted to do, and am now certain that the guild is ready. I admit the decision is selfish also. The old man would like to sit in the rocking chair in the sun and tell stories about when Artifact was just a little thing. I'd like to be able to log on for raids a few times a week, know things are in good hands, and work on my career and other things the rest of the time.

Over the next three weeks I will be scarce, because I think it is better to make the change quickly rather than to draw it out. I could give advice for the transition. But that would be only vanity -- new leadership needs free rein to make decisions without me looking over their shoulders. I have mentioned this possibility to Palatinus and I am certain he will swing into action with any changes or restructuring that needs to be done.

The thing I enjoy most about Artifact is the people. I love the success we've had together, and the friendships that will continue throughout our lives. I absolutely intend to continue to play (and it you'll have me, to raid), although somewhat less frequently.

Good luck, and see you soon.

Brontes, you have done a stellar job in recreating Artifact into the working social/raiding engine it is today. Thank you for everything you have given. To the game, of yourself. Thank you!

Respectfully,
Jerry

Don't think it will be the same without you in charge Brontes. Lots of good times were had by all and hope that will never change.

Brontes,
I know I have not been around much, but thank you for all that you have done for the guild as well as me personally!

Enjoy the break and get the alterations done for your rocking chair so you can hook up a big monitor, keyboard and mouse!

Well Brontes it has been a really good run. I gotta be one to say thank you very much. I gotta say when I started playing WoW things were a little rocky since Thetormented (Alex) wasn't on that often and I didn't really know anyone else on Ursin. But thanks to you I got into Artifact and made something of Trym and got a lot of friends not to mention plenty of help when being ganked at lower levels. So once again, thank you and all the best for the future. The guild won't be the same without you at the wheel.

-Trym

Hey may not be directly at the wheel, but he'll still be there. That's the most important thing in my eyes. Think of this transition as not the end, but a new chapter =).

You've created one hell of a guild. You've always been their for us, it is time we are there for you.

You've shared your vision of Artifact, I will make it happen. We can all share in the fruits of your labour.

If you'd have me, but not in the way that we are all used to. I've been privilaged these past few months to work along side Brontes and although it will take a team effort, I think we are more than ready to give him a break from holding up our world (of warcraft).

I'd like to have a chat with everyone tonight after the raid, and the diplomats for a little bit after that.

<3 thanks vally. I can never be Brontes, believe me I tried, the name was taken . I'm not sure I could fill his shoes, but with enough feet we will take those steps forward.

You have done more of your share of the work and we all <3 you for it. Rest and come back to us, you will always have a spot in the guild you've giving so much to see succeed.

I had something similar happen to me at work recently. Old management/close friends moved on to other things leaving me panicking. Sweat dripped down my forehead wondering what will happen with them gone? Turns out that leadership was handed over to more capable, closer friends of mine. There was no rough transition and things have only improved with time.

I'm certain I will have round 2 of this experience here. I'll miss the deep monotone voice bossing us around (and bossing us around well!) but I'm confident the transition will be quick and painless with Pala shot callin and big ballin. Brontes, you still owe me a 5's team. I expect you to deliver.

Now, with all that said....

THE PTA HAS DISBANDED???? *jumps out window*

Pala - "NO NO the PTA has not disbanded!"

*jumps back in from window... brushes off broken glass*

It's been a pleasure raiding under your guidance. I know sometimes I can be grating, but you have always been patient and pleasant. It is those qualities which I admire most in you, and I look forward to raiding with you again in the future.

Until then, have a well-deserved break. Your home will be waiting for you when you're ready to come back full time.
